Varo

Perdicaris | he/him

Varo’s bark is smooth and pale coral, freckled in green. Two white-tipped antennae rise from the bridge of his nose, framing sharp, sunset-red eyes. The foliage on his head grows from the back of his neck, falling forward in layered leaves of variegated white and mint-green. He carries himself in a way that speaks of conscious control over his presence, with a refined quality to his posture — like someone who was trained in such things.Varo travels much and often, usually on the back of his griffon — a corvid-like beast with lilac feathers. He's difficult to track, as he likes to vanish without a trace at any given moment; but when he does want to be found, he has a habit of making his presence known in Lion's Arch, Divinity's Reach, or Amnoon.Besides his penchant for disappearing and habitual charm, little is known about Varo. Those familiar with the thespian scene in Elona might recognize him as Varolainne, the minstrel who occasionally dazzles the Vabbian nobility with his glamorous performances. Members of the Pact are likely familiar with him in passing, possibly having spotted him somewhere on the premises of their respective headquarters.

  • At times, Varo’s bearing feels too perfect — his posture, clothing, the modulation of his voice. He’s not all illusions, but even a trained eye might struggle to see where they end.

  • Varo’s gaze tends to linger a moment too long on details others might miss — a shift in tone, an inconsistency in behavior, a picture that doesn’t quite match the story. It’s not prying, but there’s a sense that he’s always taking measure.

  • In the Dreaming, Varo’s aura is bright and vibrant, though never quite discernible — always softened, like lights diffused behind a curtain of fog.
